I have a modem from comcast, but they are charging me $7 monthly to rent it from them. They won't give me a list of compatible modems. I already have a wireless router, a WRT54G that works fine. I just need a modem that will take the coaxial cable from my wall and give me an ethernet cable that will plug into my router. Remember, cheap, I'll probably look on ebay or somewhere for one used. Just need a model number to look for. I'm aware I'll need to call comcast and give them the MAC address from whatever modem I get. And then return the one comcast is renting to me. If it has built in wireless thats fine, as long as it's under 50$ new or used. I'm already googling for one, just want more input from people.... Read More »
